Forgetting Wi-Fi Networks

Forgetting, or removing, Wi-Fi networks can help resolve internet connection issues. For example, your device might be trying to connect to a known network with an incorrect username or password, leading to account lockouts. Additionally, software updates and patches might interfere with saved information, preventing users from connecting to a network. 

Windows 10

  1. Select the Start menu 
  2. Search for Settings
  3. Select Network & Internet
  4. Select WiFi -> Manage known networks
  5. Select the network you want to remove, then click Forget

Windows 11

  1. Select the Start menu 
  2. Search for Settings
  3. Select Network & Internet
  4. Select WiFi -> Manage known networks
  5. Select the network you want to remove, then click Forget

macOS

  1. Click the Apple menu on the top left of the screen
  2. Select System Preferences
  3. Select Network
  4. Select Wi-Fi -> Advanced...
  5. Select the network you want to remove and click the minus sign underneath the Preferred Networks box
