Overview
Southeast offers high-speed wired connectivity to most residence halls, offices, and academic buildings on-campus. Computers and other devices with Ethernet (RJ-45) ports or USB-to-Ethernet adapters can connect to the wired network but requires some setup in-order to gain access to university resources and the Internet.
Procedure
- Connect an Ethernet (RJ-45) cable to your computer and to an Ethernet port in the wall; these look similar to phone jacks (RJ-11), but are a little wider.
- On the computer, open a web browser and visit http://splat.semo.edu/
- Sign in with your SE Key and Password--just like signing into a university computer.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and press "I Accept". A message should appear that says "Registration Complete. Please reboot the machine."
- Restart the computer. Once restarted, the computer should be able to connect to the Internet via Ethernet from anywhere on-campus; to test this, try visiting a site like https://google.com/ or any other non-university site.
