BitLocker is automatically enabled on all university owned Windows 11 devices. It provides encryption for your hard drive, ensuring data security if the drive is ever removed from your computer.
However, BitLocker can occasionally cause issues. For example, after an update, your computer may display a screen similar to the one below.
At this point, you won’t be able to access your computer until you enter the "Recovery Key."
If you encounter this issue on a university owned device, please contact the IT Help Desk with your computers asset tag and a picture of the screen if possible.
We will retrieve your recovery key and resolve the issue for you.
