Accessibility Checker

Microsoft offers a built-in Accessibility Checker that identifies potential accessibility issues, and suggests improvements to make the content more accessible. This tool is available on all platforms, such as Windows, macOS, and web. To use the Accessibility Checker, please follow the instructions listed below: 

  1. Select the Review on the Ribbon
  2. Click Check Accessibility to open the Accessibility paneUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. The Accessibility pane will list its findings and suggestions. 

 

Enable the Accessibility Checker

While the Accessibility Checker should be visible to all users, it might not be seen by those using an older version of Office 365. To enable the Checker, please follow these instructions: 

  1. Select the File tab and choose Info.
  2. Select Check for Issues
  3. In the Check for Issues drop-down menu, select Check Accessibility.
  4. The Accessibility Checker task pane will appear next to your content and show the inspection results
