Updating Preferred First Name
Overview
The Preferred First Name is the name that is displayed on services such as Portal, Office 365 and Canvas.
Process
- Open a web browser and navigate to http://my.semo.edu
- Login using Southeast email address and password
- In the search box at the top enter preferred and select the View/Update Preferred First Name tool
- The Personal Information screen will display.
- Click in the upper right corner
- Locate the Preferred First Name entry, click in the text box and add or modify the name listed.
- Click to save changes.
The name submitted should appear in the Portal, Office 365 and Canvas after the information has had a chance to synchronize across systems.
