Editing PDFs in Teams

Overview

Adobe and Teams partnered to allow users to edit and review PDFs within the Teams application. Previously, documents had to be saved to shared drives or sent over emails for modifications. This can create various file versions and increase the likelihood of the file being corrupted. To address this problem, Adobe Acrobat for Microsoft Teams allows multiple users to edit and review the document at the same time. Simply upload the file from the desktop, or OneDrive, to Teams to start editing in real-time.

Procedure

Once a PDF is opened in Teams, the user will see various options surrounding the document. Please be aware, the license you are assigned may affect the tools and features you can utilize. If you have an Adobe license, please sign into the application by clicking the Sign in button on the top row.

Moving from left to right along the top, the icons are:

  • Home: This will take you to the Adobe Acrobat home page
  • All Tools: Adobe Acrobat tools will be displayed (Generate a summary, Edit text & images, Fill & Sign, etc.)
  • Edit: The user can edit the text and images within the document
  • Convert: Export the file to a Word document
  • E-sign: Electronically sign the document
  • File Path: Displays where the file is stored in Teams
  • Desktop: The file will open in the Desktop Adobe application.
