Automatically Delaying All Sent Messages in Outlook
In Outlook (desktop app), click on the
File
tab
Click
Manage Rules & Alerts
Click
New Rule
Select
Apply rule on messages I send -
click
Next
If this delay should be applied to all messages sent, click
Next
Answer
Yes
Select
defer delivery by
a number
of minutes
Under
Step 2 Edit the rule…
- click on the
underlined value
and enter the
number of minutes to delay the message
. Click
OK
Click
Next
If you would like to add any exceptions to the rule, you may do that on the next screen. For example: create an exception so that messages marked with High Importance are not delayed. Click
Next
Give the new rule a name such as
“Send delay”
Under
Step 2 Setup rule options
, make sure that the check box next to "
Turn on this rule
" is checked, and click
Finish
Messages will be queued in the
Outbox
folder until the set time has elapsed.
