Multi-Factor Authentication Initial Setup

MFA

All SEMO personnel will have to set up Multi-Factor Authentication for their Microsoft account. The initial setup will occur the first time a user signs into their account, whether they are on or off campus. 

Authenticator App

  1. Navigate to http://mail.semo.edu 
  2. Sign in with your SE email and password
  3. A message will appear stating 'More information is required,' select Next
  4. The user will be prompted to download the Microsoft Authenticator app from their app store
    • ​​​​​​​Do not sign into the Authenticator App
  5. Return to the web browser and click Next
  6. Select 'Pair your account to the app by clicking this link'
  7. Once paired, return to the web browser and click Next
  8. The web browser will test the authenticator by having the user enter the displayed code into the authenticator.
