MFA
All Southeast personnel will have to set up Multi-Factor Authentication for their Microsoft account. The initial setup will occur the first time a user signs into their account, whether they are on or off campus.
On a Computer
We recommend users set up Multi-Factor Authentication using a computer.
- Navigate to http://mail.semo.edu
- Sign in with your Southeast email and password
- A message will appear stating 'More information is required,' select Next
- The user will be prompted to download the Microsoft Authenticator app from their app store. Once downloaded, open the app and accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Do not sign into the Authenticator App
- Return to the web browser and click Next
- The web browser will state the Microsoft Authenticator app is going to set up their Southeast account. Select Next
- Return to your phone. In the Microsoft Authenticator app, select Scan a QR Code
- After scanning the code, return to the web browser and select Next
- The web browser will test the authenticator by having the user enter the displayed code into the authenticator.
On a Mobile Device
- Navigate to http://mail.semo.edu
- Sign in with your Southeast email and password
- A message will appear stating 'More information is required,' select Next
- The user will be prompted to download the Microsoft Authenticator app from their app store. Once downloaded, open the app and accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Do not sign into the Authenticator App
- Return to the web browser and click Next
- Select 'Pair your account to the app by clicking this link'
- Once paired, return to the web browser and click Next
- The web browser will test the authenticator by having the user enter the displayed code into the authenticator.
