Zoom is a video/audio-conferencing platform that is used for virtual meetings and to connect remote locations and learners to live classroom lectures and activities. Zoom integrates with the campus LMS, Canvas, and allows instructors to schedule classroom sessions and record lectures.
Faculty, staff and students all have a basic Zoom account and can log on with the campus credentials at http://semo.zoom.us/. You can also log on using the Zoom client and selecting the SSO option with SEMO as the domain. Basic accounts do not allow you to record to the cloud or to host meetings over 40 minutes long.
If you need a Pro license, you can request by opening a ticket (i.e., see "I need help with Zoom"). Pro accounts allow for longer meeting duration and to record to the cloud.
Southeast Missouri State University has over 23 classrooms on the main campus as well as the Sikeston, Kennett, and Poplar Bluff campuses that have Zoom Room technology. These specialized classrooms will automatically connect to virtual instruction for scheduled courses and do not require an instructor or facilitator on-site.
Southeast also has around 40 classrooms that are "Zoom Ready", equipped with an instructor camera and ceiling microphones to support teaching online and to remote audiences.
